Theresa Bonanni, 96, of Exeter, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 16, 2026, at Hospice of the Sacred Heart in Dunmore.

Born in Exeter on September 26, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Mary Niedwicz Szura.

A devoted homemaker, Theresa dedicated her life to the care and happiness of her family. Her greatest joy was found in the simple moments spent with those she loved, especially her grandchildren, who were the light of her life.

In addition to her parents, Theresa was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred Bonanni; granddaughter, Amy; great granddaughter, Brittany; brothers, John, Edward, Walter and Charles; and her sisters, Pauline, Stephanie, and Mary.

Surviving are her loving daughters, Maureen Condosta and her husband, James; Diane Ide; and Sandra Genelow; her grandchildren, Jamie, Brent and his wife, Dawn, and Mary Theresa and her husband, Matt;  her great grandchildren, Jayden, Coy, Jack, Piper, Juliet and Harper; her sisters, Dolores Sandroski and Helen Szura; her brother, Joseph Szura; and several nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to extend their deepest gratitude to the staff at Hospice of the Sacred Heart-especially Mackenzi, Julie and Chaplain Sara-for their exceptional care and compassion.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Theresa's viewing which will be held on Wednesday, April 22, 2026 from 10 to 11 A.M. in Immaculate Conception Church, of Corpus Christi Parish, 605 Luzerne Ave., West Pittston, followed by the celebration of her Mass of Christian Burial at 11 A.M., with Monsignor John J. Sempa, officiating.

Interment will follow in St. John the Baptist Cemetery, Exeter.

Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Theresa to Hospice of the Sacred Heart, 100 William St., Dunmore, PA 18510.
