Stephen J. Guchanyk, 87, of Kingston, passed away Saturday, January 31, 2026 at Edenbrook on Second Ave in Kingston.

Born December 12, 1938, in Edwardsville, he was the son of the late John S. and Mary Ancin Guchanyk. He was a former member of St. Mary's Czestochowa Church in Swoyersville and St. Leo's Holy Rosary Church in Ashley.

Prior to retiring, Stephen was a foreman employed by Roth American, Inc. in Wilkes-Barre. A very artistic individual, he was a vehicle graphics designer on local law enforcement vehicles.

Stephen was a Fourth Degree Knight of the Knights of Columbus, Assumpta Council 3987, Luzerne, where he helped coordinate many events. He was also an active member of the American Legion Post 644 in Swoyersville, where he assisted as a bartender and with food.

In addition to his parents, Stephen was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Ann Hallas Guchanyk; his second wife, Patricia Sulkowski Guchanyk; and his brother, John Guchanyk.

Surviving are his daughters, Julie Wolfe and her husband, William, Allentown; and Michele Rogers, Wilkes-Barre; sons, Stephen Guchanyk and his wife, Susan, Myerstown; and Johnathan Guchanyk, Ohio; four grandchildren, Sarah, Stephanie, Lea, and Brian; and five great grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Stephen's viewing which will be held on Saturday, February 7, 2026 from 10 to 11 AM at the Bednarski Funeral Home, 168 Wyoming Avenue, Wyoming, followed by a Blessing Service at 11 AM.

Interment will follow in St. Stephen's Cemetery, Lehman Twp.
