Sonya L. Ciotola, 85, of Wyoming, passed away Thursday, October 05, 2023 in Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Wilkes-Barre.

Her beloved husband was the late David V. Ciotola, who passed away on March 29, 2013. David and Sonya were blessed to share 40 beautiful years of marriage.

Born on March 03, 1938, in Swoyersville, Sonya was the daughter of the late John and Mary (Vitanovetc) Fela.

She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Church in Pittston.

Prior to her retirement, Sonya was employed by the Girls Scouts of America and in earlier years she was employed in the local garment industry.

In addition to her parents, and husband, Sonya was preceded in death by her sisters, Lucille Brace and Marion Myers; and her niece, Sandra Race.

Surviving are her sister, Carol Hulanick and her husband, William, Egg Harbor Twp., NJ; her nieces, Sara, Elizabeth, Cinthia, and Yvonne; her nephew, James; and several great nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 11, 2023 at 9 a.m.  from the Bednarski Funeral Home, 168 Wyoming Avenue, Wyoming, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in St. John the Evangelist Church, 35 William St., Pittston.

Interment will follow in St. John the Baptist Cemetery, Schooley St., Exeter.

Family and friends are invited to attend Sonya's viewing which will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
