Obituary

It is with profound sadness that the family of Robert F. LaNunziata, 54, of Swoyersville, announces his passing on Friday, October 10, 2025.

Born on June 3, 1971, in Kingston, Robert, affectionately known as Robbie, was the son of the late Mary Ann (Urban) LaNunziata.

He was a graduate of Bishop O'Reilly High School Class of 1989. Following his high school education, he attended Johnson College in Scranton, earning a degree in automotive in 1991.

Robbie was a lifelong member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish, which was formerly Holy Trinity Church, in Swoyersville.

Robbie will be remembered for his steadfast love of his cats, who were his constant companions and brought him immeasurable joy. He was also an avid NASCAR fan who could always be found in front of the television on race days.  He is now watching the races from the best seats in the house, undoubtedly with a cat purring on his lap.

In addition to his mother, Robbie was preceded in death by his aunt, Diane Bowman.

Surviving are his brother, James LaNunziata and his fiancé, Gina Giovannini; Swoyersville; his beloved nieces, Samantha LaNunziata and her fiancé, Kyle, Middletown; and Alexis LaNunziata, Etters; his uncles, Reverend Anthony M. Urban, Swoyersville; and Robert Urban, Swoyersville; and his aunt, Arlene Adamchik, Swoyersviile.

Family and friends are invited to attend Robbie's viewing which will be held on Friday from 9 A.M. to 10:30 A.M. in St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish, 116 Hughes Street, Swoyersville.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 A.M.  with the Reverend Anthony M. Urban officiating, and Reverend John J. Chmil concelebrating.

Private interment will follow in Holy Trinity Cemetery, Swoyersville.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Robbie's memory to St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish, 116 Hughes St., Swoyersville, PA 18704.
