Robert “Bob” Borzell, 69, of Wyoming, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, at Allied Services Hospice Center in Wilkes-Barre, surrounded by his loving family.

Bob was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He was a man who never hesitated to lend a helping hand and was known throughout the community for his kindness, generosity, and willingness to help anyone in need. Whether someone needed a hand with a project, a repair, or simply someone they could count on, Bob was there. His giving spirit and genuine concern for others touched countless lives, and his absence will be deeply felt throughout the community he loved.

Bob was the loving husband of Cynthia Sandroski Borzell. Together, they celebrated 36 years of marriage on February 16th.

Born on March 20, 1957, in Pittston, Bob was the son of the late John D. Borzell and the late Margaret Callahan Catell.

Bob was a hardworking man who took pride in everything he did. In his earlier years, he worked alongside his stepfather at Catell’s Service Station in Wyoming for sixteen years. Robert was initiated into Local 514 Millwrights Union in 1995 and was a member for 15 years. Throughout his career, he worked for several general contractors, eventually advancing to general foreman, and he also shared his knowledge and skills by teaching welding.

Bob was the proud owner and operator of B & B Flooring Refinishers for eight years. His strong work ethic and dedication carried into every aspect of his life. Most recently, Bob served as the property manager for St. Barbara’s Parish. For thirteen years, Bob served the church, helping manage two churches and two cemeteries. During his years there, he volunteered at the annual bazaar and helped with the Lenten potato pancake sales. His wife and son were by his side, helping him with both the flooring business and his many responsibilities with the churches and cemeteries.

His commitment to his community went far beyond his work. Bob served two terms as a Wyoming Borough Councilman, dedicating his time and energy to making his community a better place. It was not uncommon to see Bob, Cindy, and his dog Bear, driving through his ward and Wyoming on their nightly rides in his red truck.

He was also a lifetime member of the Wyoming Hose Company #2 Volunteer Fire Department. He was well known and respected by so many, not because he sought recognition, but simply because helping others was part of who he was.

Bob also had a passion for fixing things and helping people. What began as a hobby and something he enjoyed in his spare time became known as Bob’s Small Engine Repair. It was another way for Bob to put his skills to work while doing something he loved and, most importantly, helping others.

In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his nephew, John “Beno” Borzell, in 2011; as well as his favorite dog, Wolfe.

Left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife, Cynthia; his son, Brandon, and his wife, Meghan, of Exeter; his daughter, Rebecca Titus, and her husband, Matthew, of Hanover, Maryland; his three grandchildren, Brooklyn and Nathan Titus and Bennett Robert Borzell; his brothers, Jack Borzell and his wife, Mary Claire, of West Pittston; Lee Borzell of Plains; Dominic Borzell of Harding; and Michael Catell and his wife, Jeniene, of Virginia; his stepmother, Donna Borzell of Harding; as well as several nieces, nephews, extended family members; his faithful dog, Bear; beloved cat, Jinx; and countless friends who were fortunate enough to know and love him.

Bob leaves behind more than memories—he leaves behind a legacy of kindness, hard work, friendship, and service to others. He was the person people called when they needed help, and he never seemed to hesitate to answer. His generosity of spirit and his willingness to help others made a difference in more lives than he probably ever realized.

He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and the many people throughout the community who had the privilege of knowing him. His memory will live on in every life he touched and in every helping hand he extended along the way.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Bob’s services which will begin with visitation on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, from 6 to 8 p.m. at St. Anthony of Padua Church, of Corpus Christi Parish, 224 Memorial St., Exeter.

The Wyoming Area Regional Police Department Honor Guard will be in attendance to pay tribute and honor Bob’s service and dedication to the community.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Thursday morning at 11 a.m. at St. Anthony of Padua Church, with the Reverend Paul McDonnell, O.S.J., officiating. Those attending the Mass are asked to meet directly at the church.

Interment will follow in Mountain View Burial Park, Harding.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Bednarski Funeral Home, 168 Wyoming Avenue, Wyoming.
