Obituary

Madeline M. Zurla, 93, of Wyoming, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 26, 2026, at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.

Born on December 25, 1932, in Wyoming, Madeline was the daughter of the late John and Maria (Conversini) Zurla.

Madeline worked in the local garment industry and was a proud member of the International Ladies’ Garment Workers’ Union. She also spent many years working with Chorba’s catering business at the Wyoming Hose Company on Third Street in Wyoming, where she was part of the local community she called home.

Madeline was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Church, Corpus Christi Parish, in Exeter.

In addition to her parents, Madeline was preceded in death by her brothers, Romeo, Mario, and Joseph Zurla; and her sisters, Mary Saksa, Vera Meschini, Helen Carpenter, and Eileen Milnick.

Madeline was a beloved aunt whose memory will be treasured by her family. She will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by those who were fortunate to share in her life.

Left to cherish her memory are her niece, Jacqueline Davis, and her husband, Richard, of Wyoming; and their children, Ricky Davis; and Amber Davis and her fiancé, Justin Spencer; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to attend Madeline’s viewing on Friday, October 30, 2026, from 10 to 11 a.m. at Bednarski Funeral Home, 168 Wyoming Avenue, Wyoming.
