Lillian "Lil" M. Manganiello, 78, of West Pittston, passed away after battling years of illness, on Monday morning, October 09, 2023 at the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.
Born in Wilkes-Barre on May 20, 1945, she was the daughter of the late Richard and Elizabeth Trudgen Nero.
Prior to her retirement, Lil previously worked as a waitress for 25 years for the R & J Diner in Wyoming.
She loved doing so many activities such as fishing, bowling, bingo, running Atlantic City bus trips, and playing cards with her friends and family. One her favorite things to do was bake Christmas cookies.
Above all, Lil had the greatest love for her husband and children but she will always be remembered for the extraordinary love she had for her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Betty Heck and Eleanor Henry; and her brother, Phillip Nero.
Surviving are her husband, of 49 years, Biagio Manganiello; daughter, April Ambrose and her husband, Jeffrey, Jenkins Twp.; son, Biagio Manganiello Jr., and his partner, Courtney Senghaas, Pittston; five grandchildren, Jacqueline Martin, Erica Ambrose, Biagio, Wyatt, and Amara Manganiello; two great grandchildren, Troy Moss and Aria Butry; her sister, Suzanne Favata and her partner, Wayne Terry, Forty-Fort; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Bednarski Funeral Home, 168 Wyoming Avenue, Wyoming.
