Obituary

Joseph M. Mizenko, 83, of Exeter, passed away Thursday, July 17, 2025 at the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.

Born in Kingston, on July 8, 1942, Joseph was the son of the late Joseph and Tillie (Redmerski) Mizenko.

He was a member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Pittston.

Prior to his retirement, Joseph was a dedicated and skilled mason who spent his entire career working for Lulewicz Masonry. For over 40 years, he contributed his expertise and craftsmanship to countless projects, leaving a lasting legacy of his work.

A simple man at heart, Joseph lived a life filled with love for his family, friends, and, of course, his beloved sports teams.

A die-hard fan of the Philadelphia Eagles, he relished every opportunity to cheer on his team. He cherished his time attending Eagles training camps with his son, creating lasting memories and solidifying their shared passion for the sport.

As well as his dedication to the Eagles, he was a loyal supporter of the Wyoming Area Warriors football team, enjoying their games on Friday nights.

In addition to his parents, Joseph was preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, Barbara (Morgan) Mizenko; and his brothers, Edward and Christopher Mizenko.

Surviving are his son, Cory Mizenko and his wife, Brooke, Dunmore; his grandchildren, Evan and Aubrey; his brothers, Peter Mizenko, Newark, DE; and Barry Ahlbrandt and his wife, Angel, Oak Point, TX; his sisters, RaeAnn Arnone and her husband, John, Kingsley, PA; Cathy Snyder and her husband, Douglas, Port Charlotte, FL; and Anne Clevenger, and her husband, Curt, North Port, FL; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Joseph's visitation, which will be held on Tuesday from 5 to 7 P.M. at the Bednarski Funeral Home, 168 Wyoming Ave., Wyoming.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to DAWGS Prison Programs, 25 Brier Drive, Pottsville, PA 17901.
