Joseph "Patchy" Kauperchinsky, 89, of Port Griffith, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 15, 2023 at Allied Services Hospice Center in Wilkes-Barre.

Born in Port Griffith, Joseph was the son of the late Victor and Helen (Ostroski) Kauperchinsky.

He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Church in Pittston.

Prior to his retirement, he was employed by Casy-Kassa Coal Company.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Andrew, Steve, John, and Victor; and his sisters, Cecilia Jerkins and Sophie Kauperchinsky.

Surviving are his sister, Irene Kizis, Port Griffith; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the Bednarski Funeral Home, 168 Wyoming Avenue, Wyoming.

Interment will follow in St. John the Evangelist Cemetery, Pittston.
