John C.
Yaworski
Aug 9, 1952 — Dec 1, 2025
John C. Yaworski, 73, of West Wyoming, passed away Monday, December 1, 2025, at the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.
Born in Philadelphia, John was a proud graduate of Roman Catholic High School. He made a life for himself in the Wyoming area after moving here in 1972.
In his professional life, John started his career at United Foundry, a place he truly loved working at. He found satisfaction working in the defense industry and eventually retired from General Dynamics.
John was a man of many passions. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, and enjoyed target shooting. A true sports enthusiast, he was a loyal fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers, Philadelphia Flyers, and Philadelphia Phillies.
He also had a notable talent for cooking; his specialty meatballs were enjoyed by many. His most cherished hobby, however, was his profound passion for Lionel trains, for which he dedicated an entire room to a complete train set.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife, Karen Gomb Yaworski. He is also survived by his two sons and their wives: Bryan and Jennifer of West Wyoming, and Chris and Erin of Allentown. He was the proud grandfather of Macie, Sofia, Alexandra, and Wyatt. Additionally surviving are his beloved fur baby, Abby; many brothers- and sisters-in-law; nieces; a nephew; and his best friend, Paul Konopka.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend John's memorial visitation which will be held on Saturday, December 13, 2025 from 9 to 11 AM at the Bednarski Funeral Home, 168 Wyoming Avenue, Wyoming, followed by a Blessing Service at 11 AM. The Reverend Peter Tomczak, Pastor of St. Monica Parish, West Wyoming, will officiate.
In honor of John's casual spirit, the family requests that you wear casual attire.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in John's memory to the Greater Pittston Ambulance Association, 83 S Main St., Pittston, PA 18640.
