Obituary

James B. Walsh, 75, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 11, 2026, at Tiffany Court at Kingston.

He was the loving husband of Linda Vaughn Walsh, with whom he shared 54 years of marriage. They were married on August 7, 1971 at Saints Peter and Paul Church, Towanda.

Born on September 5, 1950, in Sayre, Jim was the son of the late James E. and Marie E. Mc Sparron Walsh.

Jim was a graduate of Towanda High School Class of 1968. He then built a successful 38-year career as an insurance agent with Nationwide Insurance.

Above all, Jim was a devoted family man who cherished time with his children and grandchildren. A devout Catholic, he was a member of Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Towanda and actively involved with the Knights of Columbus.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, John, and in-laws, Lloyd and Betty Vaughn.

Jim is survived by his beloved wife, Linda; daughter, Amy (Richard) McDonald of Duryea: sons, Christopher (Kelli) of Duryea, and Scott (Leighann) of Lancaster; and five cherished grandchildren, Grace (Stew), Bridget, Liam, Kiersten, and Hannah (Conner). He leaves behind his siblings, Michael (Rozanne) Walsh, Joseph Walsh, Mary Ann Walsh, and David Walsh, along with several nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate staff at Tiffany Court at Kingston for the exceptional and personal care they provided to Jim. Their kindness, dedication, and support brought comfort not only to Jim, but also to his family during a difficult time, and they will always be deeply appreciated.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Jim’s Memorial Mass which will be held on Saturday, June 20th at 11 a.m. in Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 106 Third St., Towanda, with the Reverend Jose Kuriappilly, officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Agnes School, 102 Third St., Towanda, PA 18848 or to the Parkinson’s Research Foundation, 5969 Cattleridge Blvd., Suite 100, Sarasota, FL 34232.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Bednarski Funeral Home, 168 Wyoming Avenue, Wyoming, PA.
