Helen Stach Golumbaski went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, November 8, 2023 at the age of 91.
Born on March 6, 1932, in West Wyoming, she was the daughter of the late Anthony Sr. and Caroline (Krainz) Stach.
Helen was married to Robert B. Golumbaski who passed away on November 2, 1988. Helen and Robert were married on July 2, 1960 and had 28 wonderful years of marriage together. They resided in Swoyersville where Helen remained after Robert's passing until 2019 when she moved to the former St. Luke's Villa, now Allied Services Center City Skilled Nursing Facility in Wilkes-Barre.
Helen graduated from West Wyoming High School in 1950. She was employed by the Nesbitt Memorial Hospital in Kingston as an elevator operator and by the United Pants Company in Swoyersville as a seamstress. Helen was also a homemaker for many years.
She was a long-time member of St. Mary's of Czestochowa Church, Swoyersville. Following the closing of her church, she became a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish in Swoyersville.
In addition to her parents, Helen was preceded in death by her sisters Catherine Stach and Eva S. Krapf; and her brothers, John ("Jim") Stack; Peter Stach; Michael Stach; and Stephen Stach.
Helen is survived by her daughter, Denise Golumbaski, of Herndon, Virginia, her brother, Anthony Stach, Jr. of Swoyersville, and many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Allied Services Center City Skilled Nursing Center who went above and beyond to provide loving care for Helen and for their excellent care and support.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral which will be conducted on Saturday, November 18, 2023 at 10 a.m. from the Bednarski Funeral Home, 168 Wyoming Avenue, Wyoming, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:30 am in St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish, 116 Hughes Street, Swoyersville, with her pastor, the Rev. John J. Chmil, serving as the celebrant and homilist.
Interment with Rite of Committal will follow in Mount Olivet Roman Catholic Cemetery, 612 Mount Olivet Road, Carverton.
Family and friends are invited to attend Helen's viewing which will be held on Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
