Gloria Jean
Dickson, R.N.
d. Jan 7, 2026
Our dearest sister, Gloria Jean Dickson, R.N., of Wyoming, passed away peacefully into paradise, on Wednesday, January 7, 2026. Gloria was the second child born to Edward and Stella (Kuzma) Dickson, in the beautiful month of May.
Gloria was a graduate of St. John's High School, Class of 1961, and went on to pursue her nursing career at the Mercy Hospital School of Nursing in Scranton, PA, graduating in 1964. At the very early age of five years old, Gloria wanted to be a nurse. She pursued that dream and enjoyed 40 years of dedicated, and compassionate nursing care at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York City…which incidentally, was only supposed to be for one year! Gloria was highly respected by her peers.
Gloria was blessed with a caring and loving heart, an absolutely fantastic sense of humor and a good listening ear. She was truly one-of-a kind and one you could never forget. One of the greatest joys in life was to have our wonderful sister, Gloria. We were truly blessed and will miss her.
In addition to her loving parents, Gloria was preceded in death by her brothers, Lt. Edward A. Dickson, Jr. (MIA); and Robert M. Dickson, Sr.; and her nephew, Robert M. Dickson, Jr.
Surviving are her two sisters, Theresa Dickson, at home; and Mary M. Dickson, M.D. and her husband, Michael H. Deneff, Sr., Colorado; her nephew, Michael H. Deneff, Jr., Colorado; her niece, Kristina Marlowe (Michael), South Carolina; great nieces, Marie and godchild, Lucie Deneff; great nephew, Michael Marlowe, Jr.; and her sister-in-law, Nancy Dickson, South Carolina.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial for Gloria, on Saturday, January 10, 2026 at 11:30 a.m. in St. Anthony's Church of Corpus Christi Parish, 224 Memorial St., Exeter. Interment will follow in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Carverton.
As per her wishes, there will be no viewing.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Bednarski Funeral Home, 168 Wyoming Ave., Wyoming.
