Elizabeth "Betsy" Kundrat, 90, formerly of Wyoming, passed away peacefully Tuesday morning, May 7, 2024, at River View Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Wilkes-Barre, where she was a resident for the past three years.
Born on July 31, 1933, in Swoyersville, Betsy was the daughter of the late Stephen and Mary Vasil Medvec.
Over the years, she had various jobs at RCA, head baker at College Misericordia, and Mary Medvec's Catering, before retiring from being a private personal home healthcare worker, for many years.
Betsy was a devout and faithful Catholic and was a member of St. Frances Cabrini Church in Carverton. She was also a member of the former Holy Trinity Church in Swoyersville, where she was actively involved with many church functions and was very proud to have received the honor of May Queen.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Kundrat Sr.; her son, John Kundrat Jr.; sister, Mary Michaels; and brothers, John and Andrew Medvec.
Surviving are her daughters, Jayne Krispin, Dallas; Deborah Baldygo and her husband, Chris, Shickshinny; and Lisa Culver, and her husband, Michael, Dallas; eight grandchildren, Freddy Krispin and his fiancé, Jennifer Kaminski; Suzanne Krispin and her husband, Tony; Nicole Bonavina and her husband, Danny; Jesse Baldygo and his girlfriend, Fernanda Peterson; Joshua Baldygo and his wife, Kelly; A.J. Frania; Amber Kreidler and her husband, Dean; and Travis Culver; three great grandchildren, Nathan and his fiancé, Abby; Jasmyne; and Josie Jade; and several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, May 13, 2024 at 11 a.m. in St. Frances Cabrini Church, 585 Mt. Olivet Road, Carverton, with the Reverend Joseph J. Pisaneschi, officiating.
Private interment will follow in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Carverton.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Bednarski Funeral Home, 168 Wyoming Avenue, Wyoming.
