Edward David Chacko, 97, of West Wyoming, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, August 28, 2026.

His beloved wife of 68 years was the late Anna A. Chacko who passed away on July 28, 2022.

Born in West Wyoming on September 1, 1928, he was the son of the late Andrew and Mary (Sabol) Chacko.

Edward honorably served his country in the United States Marine Corps from 1948 to 1952 during the Korean War, where he was part of “The Chosin Few.” Following his military service, he spent the majority of his career working at Diamond Manufacturing Company in West Wyoming until his retirement.

He was a loving husband and father, and a steadfast provider whose devotion to his family never wavered.

He was a faithful member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish in Swoyersville.

In addition to his parents and his wife, he was also preceded in death by his daughter, Karen Cholewa; his brothers, Andrew and John Chacko; and his sisters, Dorothy Michael and Florence Butcofski.

He is survived by his loving nieces and nephews, Andrew Chacko, Linda Royer, Barbara DeLeo, Frank Butcofski and Cynthia Butcofski, DDS, as well as many grandnieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Edward’s services which will begin with a viewing on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, from 9 to 10 A.M. at the Bednarski Funeral Home, 168 Wyoming Avenue, Wyoming, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 A.M. in St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish, 116 Hughes St., Swoyersville, with the Rev. John J. Chmil, officiating.

Interment will follow in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Carverton, where Military Honors will be accorded by the United States Marine Corps.
