Obituary

Charlotte M. Lacina, 86, of Kingston, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 17, 2024, at Wesley Village in Pittston.

Born in Wilkes-Barre, on August 24, 1937, Charlotte was the daughter of the late George and Josephine Olczyk Lacina.

Charlotte was a long-time member of St. Ignatius Loyola Church in Kingston.

Prior to her retirement, she was employed by General Cigar Company in Kingston.

Charlotte was known for her remarkable spirit and her grace to know the value of the simple things in life; her family, her friends, and her brownies.  She loved decorating for the holidays, especially for her favorite holiday, Christmas.

She was an independent and strong-willed woman, yet she had a gentle resilient nature. Her heart was filled with compassion and love for others, and her thoughtful ways to which she never forgot a birthday.

In her spare time, Charlotte enjoyed polka music and developed a love of polka dancing with her sisters.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Dorothy Gadomski, Carol Baldacci, and Theresa Affeldt.

Charlotte leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion in the hearts of her surviving family members. She is survived by her nieces and nephews, Lee Ann Ceccoli; Robert Gadomski; Deborah Senese; Kenny Affeldt; Kathy Justave; Dale Gadomski; and Chrissy Reed; as well as several great nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday from Bednarski Funeral Home, 168 Wyoming Avenue, Wyoming, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Ignatius Loyola Church, N. Maple Ave., Kingston.

Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Swoyersville.
