Carolyn Mary (Bedisky) Marcato, 83, of West Wyoming, passed away Saturday, March 14, 2026 at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital after a brief illness.

Born in Jersey City, NJ on April 14, 1942, Carolyn was the daughter of the late Joseph and Claire Lickiewicz Bedisky. She grew up in Exeter, PA where she graduated from Exeter High School in 1960. Carolyn then embarked on a distinguished and varied career in nursing after attending the Nesbitt Memorial Hospital School of Nursing. She specialized in psychiatric nursing, and was a dedicated contributor to the mental health field.

Beyond her professional life, Carolyn's passions included frequent visits to her beloved New York City, where she had started her career and remained inspired by its people and energy. She was also a devotee to many beaches and casinos throughout the east coast.

Later in life, Carolyn could be found scouring estate sales, antique stores and consignment shops to conduct business with a broad network of buyers and sellers of vintage merchandise.

Carolyn is survived by her long-time partner, Edward Nelen, and her son, William Jon Marcato.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Carolyn's viewing which will be held on Saturday, March 21st, 2026, from 10 to 11 A.M. in St. Monica Parish, 363 W 8th Street, West Wyoming, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m.

Private interment will be held in St. John the Baptist Cemetery, Exeter.
