Obituary

Carmen J. Santasania, 88, of Wyoming, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 11, 2025 at Allied Services Hospice Meade Street, Wilkes-Barre.

Born in Wyoming, on August 18, 1936, Carmen was the son of the late Anthony and Filomena Giampa Santasania.

Carmen was a lifelong member of St. Anthony's Church, of Corpus Christi Parish in Exeter.  He was a graduate of Wyoming High School Class of 1954.

A proud member of 50 years of the International Union of Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers Local 5, Pennsylvania, Carmen spent many years working as a mason, taking immense pride in his craft. He worked for Bright Construction Company for many years, as well as other various construction projects throughout his career.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Carmen T. Santasania; and his sister, Mary Colonna.

Surviving are his wife of 67 years, Theresa Arway Santasania; his son, David, Wyoming; his daughter, Deborah Markert and her husband, Brian, Pittston; 4 grandchildren, Jennifer Cawley and her husband, Patrick; Stephanie DeMasi; Sabrina Ciannilli; and Victoria Ciannilli; 5 great grandchildren; as well as nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral which will be held on Saturday at 9:30 a.m. from the Bednarski Funeral Home, 168 Wyoming Avenue, Wyoming, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Anthony's Church, of Corpus Christi Parish, 224 Memorial St., Exeter, with the Reverend Michael S. Drevitch, officiating.

Interment will follow in St. John the Baptist Slovak Cemetery, Schooley St., Exeter.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
