Bev (Bevue) O’Donnell, 84, of Exeter, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 19, 2026 at Highland Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Exeter.

Bev is survived by her beloved husband, Gerald (Jerry) O’Donnell, with whom she shared 67 wonderful years of marriage.

Born in Luzerne on November 12, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Steve and Louise (Gunshore) Opsitos. Bev was a graduate of West Wyoming High School Class of 1959 and a longtime member of St. Monica Parish in West Wyoming.

Prior to her retirement, Bev was employed by Gruen Manufacturing in Exeter.

Some of Bev’s fondest memories of her teenage years were spent performing with the Hilda Man Hertz dance troupe, where she was a tap dancer and baton twirler. Later, as a mother, she was an enthusiastic volunteer at her daughter’s school and with her Girl Scout troop, and an ever-present audience member for her own daughter’s theatre performances.

Bev had a love and talent for baking, and one of the joys of the holidays was receiving a container filled with her delicious assortment of homemade cookies. She was also a devoted animal lover, and her home was never without a spoiled cat. Or several.

In addition to her husband, Jerry, Bev is survived by her daughter, Melanie Wade, and her husband, Dr. Christopher Wade, Dickson City; her sister, Dorothy Kanarr, West Wyoming; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Bev’s family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to the staff at Highland Manor and Traditional Hospice for the exceptional care and compassion shown to her and her family.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday from the Bednarski Funeral Home, 168 Wyoming Avenue, Wyoming, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 A.M. in St. Monica Parish, 363 West Eighth St., West Wyoming.

Interment will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, West Wyoming.

Family and friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
